On the Road
2026
As believers, we are commanded to love one another.
Jesus gives us the model, the example, the motivation, and the reason for loving one another. And He gives us the power to do so by his Holy Spirit living in us.
Join us at our 2026 On the Road conferences, as we wrestle together through what it means to love one another – our families, our church, our communities, and people from every tribe and nation. To love others so much, that we are delighted to share not only the gospel, but our lives as well…so that the light of Jesus will shine into the lives of those living under the shadow of darkness.
Our keynote speaker Natalie will share from Scripture, and from her family’s experience over the years to encourage you about how God is constantly at work through us when we unreservedly love one another, by His grace and power.
On the Road also includes an interactive workshop time. Our workshop leaders will be looking at some of the other One Another commands; Forgive One Another, Encourage One Another and Be Humble to One Another.
The day runs from 9:15AM-3:30PM. Tickets are $50 per person for a catered ticket, or $35 BYO food.
We hope that you can join us at your closest On the Road location.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34 & 35
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers (1 John 3:16).
Dear friends, since God so no-one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us (1 John 4:12)
Our keynote speaker Natalie Short grew up on a beef farm in Berry’s Creek, South Gippsland. She moved to Melbourne for university, and then with her husband Warwick and their 4 children, she lived in Niger from 2008-2021, as a missionary amongst Fulani people. This was a very hard place to live, but during this time they had the great joy of seeing the Lord grow his church and bring people to faith in Jesus as Lord. She now lives in Korumburra, with the desire to see the same thing happen in South Gippsland. Natalie works 4 days a week at Chairo Christian School, and spends the rest of the time in her week with family and friends, getting to know people through Sport, serving at Leongatha Pressy, and encouraging city people to consider cross-cultural mission or country ministry.

Encourage One Another
BEC WALZ
What is it that gets you through those most difficult times? What is it that causes you to push on when it all seems too hard? How is it that you can keep rolling that heavy boulder up that steep hill, day after day? If you're anything like me, it's likely the prayers, encouragement and grace of God that helps you persevere. What can we do and say to others to help them persevere through the challenges they face? Is it enough to simply say "you can do it", or do we need to base our encouragement on something with a firmer foundation? Learn together with me why encouragement is so valuable, and how we can be doing it better, to better fulfill the command to "encourage on another".Bec Walz is wife of one, home-schooling mother of five, and worshiper of the one true living God, by the blood of Jesus. She lives and works in Wodonga, serving at Grace Presbyterian Church, loves coffee, snuggling under a warm blanket and all things Jane Austen.

Forgive One Another
DEB FISHER
In this workshop we will explore what forgiveness is (according to the Bible), what it is not, the theology of forgiveness, how we can forgive, the consequences of unforgiveness, some examples of forgiveness, and why we both love and fear this teaching. (Due to the nature of this session, we will not be going into the specifics of people’s personal circumstances and hurts).Deb moved with her husband and 2 children from Adelaide to Wangaratta 12 years ago - a move that was only intended to be for a year! She and her husband of 30 years, Andrew, are now empty-nesters, and live on a couple of acres just out of town, where she is learning to deal with much home-grown produce! Deb is now part of Wangaratta Baptist Church and has been involved in kids, youth, young adults and women’s ministry for most of her life. She works during the day as a lawyer, enjoys coffee, reading and exploring new places with her husband. She is passionate about building community and connection - especially around God’s word, and mentoring the next generation to love Jesus and to love each other.

Be Humble With One Another
SARAH McDONALD
Pride is self-sufficient and says, “I know what I’m doing!” Humility says, “I can’t do this without you.” Pride is so slick it blinds us - whether we’re bold and full of ourselves or timid and fear controls us, so we run a mile at the hint of conflict.Pride isolates people and ruins community – whether that’s in marriage, families, churches – anywhere humans connect!
Pride says, ‘My life for me!’ but humility says, ‘My life for you.’ Humility is so countercultural! Humility presses in and pays the price of healing – just like Jesus. Join me in seeing how only in Jesus, humility can grow. This is heart that God dwells with, gives grace to and honour and life.
Sarah is a recovering pride addict who loves building community. She was born on a farm in NZ but calls Australia home. She serves alongside her family at Benalla Presbyterian Church. Sarah loves studying the Bible and helping folks live for Jesus with our heads, hearts & hands. She enjoys walking, gardening, knitting & music
We seek to encourage and equip women in the Presbyterian Church from all corners of Victoria. One of the ways we do this is by holding women’s conferences each year.
We recognise that for many women in rural and regional areas, there may be less access to quality teaching and events by and for women. So, in most years we take biblical training and encouragement ‘On the Road' and hold the same event in multiple regions across the state so that all women can be spiritually refreshed for the Christian life. Each 'On the Road' training day includes a keynote address on a relevant topic from Scripture and three practical workshops to equip women in their day-to-day Christian walk.
We also know the great blessing of gathering together en masse with women, so every five years (years ending in 5 or 0), we will gather together for one big State Conference. Our State Conferences follow a similar format to our ‘On the Road’ conferences, with one or two talks, as well as a choice of interactive workshops.
We hope you can join us for an in-person event!
